How to add your own tracks to an original recording
Once you learn a song on Chordify would you like to add your track to the official recording of the popular artist for posterity? This is what I figured out to do just that.
How to make stem files (separate tracks) to record your own songs
This is the way I figured out to take a popular song and make it your own recording if you’re into doing that.
Basically, you’ll have the original song with your own tracks added into as if you were part of the official recording, or you can replace the vocals with your own etc. You can manipulate it how ever you desire.
- Go to chordify and learn the song you want to make your own.
- Go to the YouTube of the song and use one of the plugins to download videos from YouTube. (I’ve had good luck with https://www.downloadhelper.net/. No ads or pay for features its free.)
- Download the video from YouTube.
- Go to this AI site and upload the song, this site is free bata and it will sperate the vocal, bass, drums etc. into separate mp3 files. (I upload and then go do something else, it will take a while.) Then when its all done. Download all the tracks into a folder.
- Then just load all the tracks into whatever DAW you use. (I use FL Studio currently)
Now you have the whole song ready for you to add your own instruments, vocals or whatever. Now you have a recording to share with your friends!
Here is a link to a song I did, updated the guitar tracks to modern guitar tones, Grand Funk Railroad “Were an American Band.”
