    I find it interesting that you've received no responses so far.  Perhaps the people behind Chordify are working to resolve this but if you're having the same issue I'm having, almost none of the videos are working.  And this appears to be due to some kind of corporatocratic legal move on the part of UMPG Publishing who apparently owns some rights to most of the videos, and have decided that if anyone gets anything out of their property without paying, they're going to slam the door on it.  This is part of multi-national corporations around the world flexing their political might, with no regard for how it reflects upon them.  I started trying to learn guitar using a product called RiffStation.  It worked in a very similar manner and attracted the attention of Fender Guitar, who bought the service.  A few months later, the service was shut down while Fender entered negotiations for the rights to continue offering the service, but this time for a monthly fee.  The service has never come back online. And now it appears the same thing may be happening to Chordify.  So we can all thank the penny-pinching corporate chair-polishers at UMPG Publishing for taking away yet another useful web-based service, in the name of shameless greed and rogue corporate power.  We should all boycott them right out of business.

    To the people who blocked the videos from this chordify. It was a tremendous part of so many of us ametuer muscicians lives. We coulld play with a band and let our imaginations soar.. I had not picked up my guitar in decades and discovered this website and it was like a gift for God. I enjoyed playing again, in private, and it became a part of my life again for a year. This site is so valuable to some of us and enrich our lives.  Please inform us if we are permanently ?

    What is going on?

    I am one of those who had not picked up the guitar in decades and discovered this website and it was like a gift
    Unfortunately, the experience of not being able to play videos today is growing.
    I get an explanation that says it's because of VIVO and UMG.
    If the exclusion of groups like: Calum Scott - Thomas Rhett - Abba ect continues at the same speed, then Chodify becomes unattractive.
    Will Chordify do anything to change its current status?

    No offense intended, Peter Mengede, but that does not answer any of our questions.  And no, it's not just videos from Vivo, but it does appear to be because of UMPG Publishing.  They are blocking videos and this includes any videos from YouTube to which they believe they have legal rights.  I believe most of our questions are;
     - Is this temporary?
     - Is Chordify working on a deal with UMPG?
     - Will Chordify re-establish service as pay-only?
     - Why were none of the thousands of Chordify users advised?
     - Is the Chordify website no longer of any use to most of us?
     - Why are we STILL not hearing any word from Chordify?

    This same kind of thing happened with a service called RiffStation shortly after it was purchased by Fender (the guitar company).  Apparently, large corporations smelled deep pockets and pounced just months after Fender took ownership.  The service was shut down, originally saying they were having "technical difficulties".  Months later they admitted they were having to work out a deal with key players in the music industry (which is really more of a Music Mafia).  They promised they would bring the service back, but only as a paid service.  That was well over a year ago, and the service is still shut down.

    No matter which way this goes, the public needs to boycott the music industry, world-wide.  They have more power than the U.S. government, and they use it without discretion or human diplomacy.  Every decision they make is based only on the potential for short-term financial gain.  They need to suffer financially for these horrendous decisions in the long-term.

    As said above, this app has motivated me to pick up my guitar and play again after many years. The main attraction = having the chords available WITH the YouTube videos. I've just signed up for the Premium just to discover the videos are not available off line......? Could i get a refund for my money if this remains the case? Also i was under the impression one could organize one's library, so it's very disappointing.

    I contacted Chordify yesterday via the e-mail on their site.  I was asked to provide a URL for a video which appeared to be blocked and did as requested.  This was the response received from Chordify today (Nov 20, 2019);
    ---

    Rob (Chordify)

    Yes, we are aware of the issue, but it's hard to say what's going on.  We only know that for some reason UMG is blocking YouTube 3rd party applications.  We are currently working hard on finding a solution, as fast as we can.  We'll keep you posted.  We're very sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime.

    Kind regards,

    Rob@Chordify

    ---

    I realize that doesn't really answer most of our questions but at least it's some word from Chordify on the issue.  I hope this helps to calm the anxiety most of us appear to be feeling.  In the meantime, I'm finding that the videos are still available at ChordU.com (a similar service), though in my estimation it seems less accurate at determining the proper chords and it's timing prompts are more difficult to follow (in my opinion).  At least it's a stop-gap measure, but I assume the Music Monarchs will soon block them as well.

    Perhaps we should have whittled the music industry down to size and blocked their monopolies when they first started this Internet war, back when they would charge $20 for a CD with one good song and 15-titles no one wanted to hear.  They've demonstrated what it means to be greedy, ruthless, and too powerful.

    P.S. (to the above)

    Let's hope we've all learned of the utter ruthlessness and lack of concern for paying customers which is common in the upper echelons of the music industry.  Whether this issue is resolved appropriately or not, we should never forget that each time we buy a song, or pay to hear a song, we're putting money in the pockets of these cold, ruthless, tycoons.  And money in their pockets - sadly - means power in the courts... the power to treat customers as worthless peasants.  These business executives are no better than common drug lords in my opinion.

    Show me anyone using the Chordify service who doesn't love music, and as such, isn't a paying customer to the industry which has (at least for the moment) shut off the service we all love, use, and support.

    I lost about 150 songs and I haved payed for 2 yrs. If its permanant I guess there is no sense paying again. I bought Riffstation and it went away. Is still have it working on a laptop but I can't install it on my desktops without a reg. code which I can't find and if I try to get it off my working copy it wants to delete the one that works. I love chordify so much I play 3 or 4 hrs most days and I love the transposing to capo most of all. The Greed in Whinny Trumps America is overpowering!!

    Don't panic everyone. I think Chordify is working on this and there will be a resolution to this issue. I am a paying member and I get a kick out of the posts by those who have been using Chordify for years without paying and have the balls to complain.

    As far as you Mr. Krause, Trump has nothing to do with Chordify and if you dropped out of the program it would be a bonus to others. the Stupidity in Krause' America is also overpowering.
