Because it depends on what key the song was written in. Bb is the same as C#...how many songs do you see written in C#?.

    Good morning David

You may need a note diagram for a piano keyboard.  When I started playing the double bass I used this Double Bass Finger Board Notes diagram which I found quite useful.  I'm sure you can google one for a piano keyboard.  Like a ready reference that you can print off.  It shows the sharps & flats.  Just a suggestion.  Regards Ross from New Zealand.

    Hey - guess what!!!!
    This program is amazing!
You can change the “signature” of the entire song. Change flats to sharps or sharps to flats at a push of the button!
    No more Gb! Yea!!!
For some reason, I’m very comfortable with playing an F#. But, up pops a Gb and it’s a train wreck!!!! I lose everything! Ugh!
    No longer!!!! Praise Jesus!!!!
    Keep up the great work!
I’m up to playing 3 hours a day. My wife is getting jealous! ;)
    Cheers and thanks

    WOW !!!

You've really come a long way in 7 days.  I know what you mean.  You get very used to playing in sharps and then you get some music that is full of flats and then this does your head in, in trying to do mathematical conversions as you go.

As a double bass player and loving some of the old jazz pieces from the 20s & 30s where then all of the songs were written in Eb Ab etc due to all the trumpets, trombones & saxes etc because that is their key pitch.  Well they were a challenge but hey you just adapt.  Try some old Billie Holliday stuff.

Glad your so excited.  Regards Ross from New Zealand.

    Hi David

In our local jazz band our "piano man" does a nice tinkling version of the Billie Holiday "Yours And Mine" using the chords only improvised (and not the melody).  He especially hits well the first instrumental bit after the vocals.

But you will need the piano chords for Ab Bb Eb Db as well as the F and C and improvise around these.

Youtube link to put into Chordify is:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7KDiLXwR5E

Attached is our simplified music song sheet.  Good luck & hope you like it.  Regards Ross from NZ

Where are you from in the world David?  Just curious !!!
