    Ross,

No worries and thanks for the reply. A lot of the bands I listen to are 1/2 step down from standard and it just feels awkward trying to play these on a standard guitar. I wish there was a way to set the tuning of the instrument.

    Hi Branson

As a bass I know what you mean.  If I have an AC DC number it is often in Ab Key as the tuning is down from an A.

But then most other classic songs are in standard tuning.

You know you can change the Key in Chordify and take it down one semi tone to Ab for example, or take it up to A fo rexample if the song is recorded in Ab.  But then out of tune with the Youtube clip.

And you can always use a capo which most guitarists use to convert songs in Eb and Bb etc.

But then I also play a double bass instrument with jazz and old blues in a local group.  We then use standatd tuning from a piano or a tuner.

To address this issue there probably needs to be an "option" like a personal edit to change the tuning.  But what about the original Youtube clip Key and its tuning.

Isn't music complicated !!!  No not really just always interesting.

Best wishes, Ross, a bass player from New Zealand.

I only just joined and it's been a real head-spin realising *everything* is in standard tuning! Major adjustment, but I guess it's a trade-off as this site is the only place I've been able to find some lesser known songs so I'm taking the rough with the smooth... :)
