Request to Add Support for More Time Signatures (e.g., 6/8, 12/8, 5/4)
Dear Chordify Team,
Thank you for the excellent work you do to make chord recognition accessible to musicians worldwide. I have noticed that Chordify correctly displays some songs in 3/4 time, which is very positive. However, many others — especially those written in time signatures such as 6/8, 12/8, 5/4, and other compound or irregular meters — are misinterpreted and assigned to completely different time signatures that have nothing to do with the original.
In particular, it causes me great frustration that songs clearly in 6/8 are placed as 3/4, when these are very different meters with completely distinct rhythmic feels. This ruins the piece, confuses musicians, and makes learning or performing the song very difficult or incorrect.
This issue affects a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, rock, metal, pop ballads, traditional music, and more, across all regions and cultures. Forcing everything into incorrect time signatures reduces accuracy and hinders musical understanding, especially for beginners and educators.
