I want to big up Chordify for the older learner

I don’t know if this is relevant, but I found Chordify luckily around a month after I picked up the guitar to start learning, I now have a back catalogue of 1601 songs explored with Chordify. I play a set list of at least 15 songs a day everyday just because I love it. Now at 65 I am not going to be a rock god, and as I live rural as a full time carer I doubt I will ever jam with anyone. So I wasn’t even sure play along was really playing. The Beatles release a new song 10 minutes later I am playing along, it really is playing, I select songs with difficult chords to advance my knowledge, I started with an electric (that was an error) but now play so much more acoustically. I have now learnt all major and minor scales up and down the fretboard, I just need to find what to do with them do will add improv to my song list as I am now putting a backing track playlist together. I wish this had been around when I was young I certainly feel there would have been potential for me as a musician. But I love it and I promote it to any one I speak to. So now nearly 3 years in you can teach yourself on a budget with this app, it really is playing along with the greats.

    Hey Mark.  I too am retired and trying to do the impossible.  "learn to play a break or lead on the fiddle"  I have found that music can be learned and feel for a song can also be learned.  I WASN'T BORN WITH IT.  I wanted to share with you that one of my best fiddle teachers is in fact on online guitar teacher that has plenty of free stuff out there and plenty of inexpensive additional stuff.  Most interestingly the way he teaches the guitar also instructs me with great ideas for my fiddle.  He simplifies every thing and explains what is going on and you will be able to improv faster than me since you are using the same instrument as he uses.  He is easy to watch and listen to.  FIND him on you tube or go direct to his site on the web.  I have a link here to his lessons page and what is nice is that you can sample and work your way down in 10 mins listening to portions of his samples.  It only takes a few bars to get the idea of what he is teaching.  I love some of his 4 note solos and how they work.  Here is the link to get you started: https://www.activemelody.com/lessons/

    Have fun and see if there are any "circle jams" or open to anyone jam events in your area.  You just have to ask EVERYBODY you know.  Took me two months of asking and finally found the perfect monthly (anybody at any level is welcome) jam session only 100 miles away.  Not bad since it is sparse here where I live.

    Thank you I am going to check it out looks very interesting. They offer two lesson for free and I will give them a go later today so far I have only found 1 teaching method that works that being Justin Guitar but this looks as though it could be a second option. Thank you do much i really appreciate it.
